Ahmed Alghamdi departs Pacific FC - Wants to seek opportunities in Saudi Arabia
Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC announced on Thursday that midfielder Ahmed Alghamdi has left the club. Born in Saudi Arabia, but raised in Vancouver, the midfielder wants to pursue opportunities in his parents' country.
“We support the development and growth of all our young players and we know Ahmed has a very bright future ahead of him,” Pacific FC CEO Rob Friend said in a club statement. “We wish him the best in Saudi Arabia in the coming season.”
Alghamdi featured for Saudi Arabia’s under-20 national team in July, making two appearances against Bahrain and Tajikistan. The 18-year-old defensive midfielder joined the club from Rino's Vancouver SC in May, 2019 and made nine appearances across all competitions for Pacific FC.
